cinearte - cinecomic
Stories in Images
3 to 6 June 2010
Opening hours (Café): Thu–Sun daily 11 a.m.–2 a.m.
Manhattan-Kinos, Café und Foyer

It has been more than a century since the way of telling stories radically changed. And it even happened in two ways: comic strips and cinema developed at about the same time. They were both the first media of a mass culture and transport their message using images, not words. The film magazine cinearte XL has its own way of looking at the myth of cinema. Production reports, interviews and analyses look at the work behind a film from many viewpoints – preferably from behind the scenes. In order to bring together both visual media in a competition, cinearte XL is looking for short strips and one-page cartoons that deal with the topic film in a distinctive way. A selection of the best works will be shown during the 14th Erlangen International Comic Salon in the café and the foyer of the Manhattan-Kinos cinema. The winner of the competition will be honoured on Saturday, 5 June 2010.

An exhibition by cinearte in cooperation with the Erlangen International Comic Salon.
