“Max und Moritz“ Prizes 2010 awarded. Best German Comic Artist is Nicolas Mahler, Best German Comic “Alpha.Directions” by Jens Harder

The “Max und Moritz” Prizes 2010 were awarded in the Markgrafentheater Erlangen on the evening of 4 June. The prize for Best Comic Strip goes to Ralf König for “Prototyp” and “Archetyp” (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), the award for Best Children’s Comic goes to Nadia Budde for “Such dir was aus, aber beeil dich! Kindsein in zehn Kapiteln“ (S. Fischer Verlag), Best International Comic is “Pinocchio“ by Winshluss (avant-verlag), Best German Comic is “Alpha.Directions“ by Jens Harder (Carlsen Comics), the special prize for the Best Student Comic Publication goes to the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg for the magazine “Strichnin”. A “Max und Moritz” Audience Award was offered for the first time this year. The winner in this category was Ulli Lust with “Heute ist der letzte Tag vom Rest deines Lebens" (avant-verlag). As announced before the gala, the French scenarist Pierre Christin received the Lifetime Achievement Award and the publishers Salleck Publications und Carlsen Comics received the Special Jury Prize for their Will Eisner editions of “Die Spirit Archive“ and “Ein Vertrag mit Gott. Mietshausgeschichten“. The announcement of the winner of the prize for Best German Comic Artist was eagerly awaited. Nicolas Mahler was voted Best German Comic Artist during the gala in a public jury meeting.
